Two Notions, In 100 Words

Firstly...

I've said it before (HERE), and I'll say it again. Super Bowl Monday needs to be a national holiday. Even if you're not a sports fan - if you don't even watch the game - that Monday is always pointless.

See? Pointless.

Secondly...

I count the days until Pitchers And Catchers Report, and I get eye rolls from non-fans. Listen - It's not about baseball! It's an idea. It is the notion that Spring is coming. Sure, there's some winter left, but it will end, and that relief is hard to describe to someone who doesn't loathe it as I do.

...hope.

Once again into the wilds of the 100 Word Challenge. Try it - it's fun!

  1. I put more credence in Spring Training as a harbinger of fair weather than a rodent looking for his shadow.

    1. Oh NO@ It's almost like a Christmas birthday! You poor thing! But take heart - I'll bet your party has WAY more cupcakes than any Super Bowl gathering.

  3. I'm over in England and I watched my first game of American Football the other day. It enjoyed it although I still don't know a lot of the rules and terminology. As for the weather it's always raining over here and the the best way of telling that it;s getting warmer is that we don't put as much money in the gas and electric meter :)

    1. Thanks for stopping in, Ally! As a fan of almost ALL sport, I can assure you that our "football" leaves a lot to be desired, as does our pro hockey and basketball. The Super Bowl is a great party, though!

As for Spring... We all have our harbingers. I can relate to the gas/electric bill indicator of the change of seasons. Let's hope it comes soon.

    1. *I* should have taken Super Bowl Monday off, alas.

Zero-ish temps are headed my way (in the Mid-Atlantic). Still counting the days...

  5. I walked on the beach and took pictures of the pier. That was my SuperBowl. And told a drunk woman behind the wheel of her car where she was. I still feel guilty of not doing anything. But hey happy hope winter is almost over! And happy birthday!
